Barcelona, Spain

I can't say I particularly enjoyed my two years of Spanish language classes in high school. Maybe that's why I was only mildly excited to spend the weekend in Barcelona, Spain. A few friends convinced me to go and since flight tickets were pretty cheap, I went! And I surprised myself by loving it! Barcelona was a such a relaxing place to be because we were not running everywhere to see "the important sights" because there just are not a ton of significant places to see there. Instead, we could relax and walk along the famous Las Ramblas street, sit on the beach and watch the waves crash in, or eat far to much gelato ice cream. :) I was also able to go to the Picasso museum there. It was really neat to see Picasso's early work and a lot of the ceramics he did later in life. I'm glad I made the trip to Barcelona! It is a place I would one day love to return to.

This last picture is just a random one that Kelly and I took with a Spanish couple. Yep.

Umm... random spanish couple? are they real? and why are they taking pictures with you on their wedding day if they are? I'm assuming they don't dress like that all the time for fun... hmmm... okay. I'm glad you had a relaxing time though! I'm sure you're getting tired from your travels!
Love,
Britta

Thanks for interesting article, you remind me my trip to Barcelona. I also relaxed in this amazing city. I fell in love with Barcelona and its beautiful architecture, there is so much to see and could have stayed for longer, however, you can get to see a lot in a day as it is not that big and is easy to get around. Most of all I was impressed by Sagrada Familia, it is probably the most well known of Gaudi’s works, and is known as a symbol of Barcelona across the entire world.

I had visited Barcelona in 1995 so it was time visit it again one more time. This year I toke a week for holidays and we went to Barcelona to visit a friend there. The experience was amazing and I found the city more fascinating than I remembered it. Finding a nice centrally located accommodation in Barcelona hotels is no easier than any other great city, and so I am very fortunate that my wife's cousin Luisa has one with a view to Sagrada Familia. It's a cosmopilitan city with a lot of wonderful places to visit and enjoy. Its inhabitants are very friendly and helpful and they're very pleased to help you giving some information.
I really like this fascinating city.
